1. An important distinction
CoookieMonster is a cookie consent management tool. The widget you install on your website helps you manage consent for your cookies. The widget itself does not set tracking cookies on your visitors' browsers.
This policy explains what cookies are used on our own websites -- coookiemonster.com (marketing site) and app.coookiemonster.com (dashboard).
2. Cookies on the marketing site
Our marketing site at coookiemonster.com uses minimal cookies:

3. Cookies on the dashboard
When you log in to the CoookieMonster dashboard at app.coookiemonster.com, the following cookies are set:

These cookies are strictly necessary for the dashboard to function. They are only set when you actively log in and are not used for tracking or advertising.
4. The CoookieMonster widget
When installed on your website, the CoookieMonster widget:
- Does not set tracking cookies on your visitors
- Stores the visitor's consent choice in
localStorage(not a cookie) - Sends anonymized, aggregated pageview and consent data to our servers for your dashboard statistics
- Does not collect IP addresses or personal data from your visitors
The widget uses localStorage rather than cookies to remember consent preferences. This means consent state is stored entirely in the visitor's browser and is not sent to any server with each request.
5. Third-party cookies
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or social media cookies on our websites. We do not allow third parties to set cookies through our service.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies on the dashboard will prevent you from logging in.
